PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE

Dennis James, Jr. is an expert on antidumping and countervailing duty laws, as well as on other laws affecting trade with the United States. He is experienced in assisting clients in matters relating to the Generalized System of Preferences and other preferential trading arrangements, such as free trade areas. Over the past thirty years, he has counseled governments and companies in connection with well over 100 different trade matters before all relevant U.S. Government agencies. He has been lead counsel in more than 45 court actions, serving as both plaintiffs' and defendants' counsel. Mr. James has written and lectured extensively on trade matters, and served as the principal counsel to the Government of Israel in connection with that country's negotiations of a Free Trade Area agreement with the United States. He has also served on binational dispute panels to adjudicate trade disputes between the United States and Canada. Mr. James is a graduate of the Georgetown University Law Center.

Prior to establishing his practice in the United States, Mr. James practiced law in Saigon, Vietnam, where he also lectured in commercial law and American history at the University of Saigon.

In trade matters, among others, Mr. James has represented major Israeli chemical companies, a large Israeli jewelry manufacturer, the Engineering Export Promotion Council of India, Indian and Korean steel producers, and U.S. importers of chemical and iron products.
