IP Practice
Our Intellectual Property ("IP") practice focuses primarily on trademarks and unfair competition. We provide a broad range of services within these areas, including the:
Selection, acquisition and clearing of marks, including advising clients on the availability of marks and the timing and procedures for acquiring marks from others, and devising creative solutions for clearing marks for registration.
Registration of marks in the US and globally, including registering marks in South America, the European Union, Central and Eastern Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
Protection and enforcement of marks, including aggressive action on behalf of our clients through litigation and other means to prevent and halt trademark infringement and unfair competition, and to redress claims for the breach of trademark license agreements.
Representation of clients in opposing the registration of marks similar to their own, and in the cancellation of marks that have been abandoned, misused or obtained through fraud, and which stand in the way of a client seeking to register a mark.
Commercial exploitation of marks, including the licensing, assignment and sale of marks, the use of marks as collateral for loans, and leveraging marks to enable clients to expand the use of their marks to new products and services and into new industries and fields of business.
